Too Bright to See

A New Musical

Book and lyrics by Mika Kauffman

Music and lyrics by Spicer Carr

Based on the award-winning novel by Kyle Lukoff

“It’s hard to be yourself before you know who that is.”

Eleven year-old Bug is used to haunted things, but when a new presence makes itself known, it’s clear that this spirit is intent on communicating something directly to Bug—but what, and why? Based on the Newbery Honor-winning novel by Kyle Lukoff, Too Bright to See is a warm, queer coming-of-age horror musical that grapples with grief, friendship, and identity, as Bug navigates the summer before middle school after the overwhelming loss of his uncle.
