Songwriter, poet, actress, model, and philanthropist; Tye Noorda was truly a renaissance woman who demanded to be heard. But when she is faced with an insurmountable loss, Tye begins to wonder what will she be remembered for. What is the stying power of one’s legacy, especially when you think you never achieved any of your dreams? And what do we really leave behind when we are gone; do people remember you for great works of art, or for your children and memories? Inspired by the life and works of Tye Noorda, You Were There is a chamber, memory musical that explores all these themes through a non-linear story line, as a woman racked with old age tries to find peace in loss.
